My Integrative Approach

I combine evidence-based psychiatric care with integrative principles that address the whole person — mind, body, and life circumstances. This personalized approach considers biological, psychological, social, lifestyle, and environmental factors that influence mental health. Treatment plans may include medication management when appropriate, psychotherapy (including CBT, insight-oriented, and CPT for PTSD), mindfulness practices, and supportive holistic strategies.

Conditions I Treat

Depression and mood disorders • Treatment resistant depression • Anxiety and panic disorders • PTSD and trauma-related issues • Bipolar disorder • Women’s mental health • Grief, loss, and life transitions • Work stress and burnout • Stress related to chronic medical conditions

Professional Background

Board-certified in Adult Psychiatry, I earned my MD from Wake Forest School of Medicine and completed residency and Chief Resident year at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan through New York Medical College. With over 20 years in clinical practice, I have worked in integrated primary care, academic, VA, and private clinic settings. While providing psychiatric care to patients at Lifestance Health and Palo Alto Medical Foundation, I also consulted with Primary Care doctors and supervised Nurse Practitioners. While working at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System treating veterans with Chronic PTSD and other mental illnesses, I also supervised residents and medical students. I continue to supervise Nurse Practitioners and collaborate regularly with Primary Care doctors.  I am a Certified Integrative Psychiatry Provider.  I am also the author of peer-reviewed research on treating depression and obesity in the Primary Care setting using an integrative model of psychiatric care.
